My research investigates the intersection of technology adoption and use and human interaction, focusing on collaborative work and inclusion and adjustment across cultures. I have recently examined the use of virtual worlds for collaboration and learning, the role of blogging and social media in generating social support for adjustment to new cultural environments, and crowdsourcing and the constitution of organizational strategy. The practical application of my research has addressed questions posed by the Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office, the Navy Training and Education Command the Navy Office of Women’s Policy.
